CEC has many sub-groups within the club. They include:

Mentoring: Work one-on-one with a K-5 student for one hour each week at Geneseo Elementary School. Activities can include crafts, reading, board games, etc.

Tutoring: We provide a free tutoring service for local elementary and high school students. Tutors will be assigned on a need basis. Referrals will come in sporadically during the year. Tutoring sessions are held in a public space on campus, such as the library.

Special Olympics: Held once a week, CEC members attend the local Special Olympics practices and volunteer as coaches. Our members play with the athletes and run drills with them. It is so much fun!

Pen Pals: We consistently write pen pal letters to a class at a local elementary school. Each CEC member who wants to participate is matched up with a pen pal. We usually write the letters at our meetings and materials are provided.

The Exceptional: At the end of each semester, we distribute a new edition of our newsletter, The Exceptional. The newsletter features information about what our club did that semester.

OUR PROGRAMS

OUR ANNUAL EVENTS

Conference: Each spring, CEC holds an annual conference on campus. There's a new theme each year and presenters are determined by that theme.

Mock IEP Meeting: As part of the conference each year, we also hold a mock IEP meeting. A family from the community participates as well as School of Education professors, acting as the IEP team members.
